What is Holt PuzzlePro?
| Holt PuzzlePro is a puzzle-building
application that helps you create content-specific puzzles for
students using provided or customized vocabulary terms and definitions. |
Installing Holt PuzzlePro
To install Holt PuzzlePro, insert the
One-Stop Planner CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive of your computer.
From the One-Stop Planner Home Screen, click "Holt PuzzlePro" in
the Tools list, and follow the directions on the screen.
Caution: Do not change the default folder for installing Holt
PuzzlePro.

Getting Started with Holt PuzzlePro
Use Holt PuzzlePro to create crossword
puzzles and word searches that make learning vocabulary words
fun.
Windows:
To get started with Holt PuzzlePro, first install it from from
your One Stop Planner CD and then start Holt PuzzlePro by clicking
Start --> All Programs --> Holt PuzzlePro.
Macintosh:
Click the Holt PuzzlePro icon in the dock, on your desktop, or
in a Finder window. If you do not see this icon, locate the Holt
PuzzlePro folder on your hard drive (usually in Applications).
Double-click the Holt PuzzlePro icon.
To begin using PuzzlePro, click Crossword, Word Search, Scramble,
or Cryptogram and follow the directions on the screen.

To find out more about the Holt PuzzlePro, click Help from the
application itself, at the lower-left corner of the application
window. |

Can I print the puzzles that I create
in Holt PuzzlePro?
| Yes. Click the "Print Puzzle" button
at the bottom of the application window after you have created
the puzzle. |
Can I save the puzzles that I create in
Holt PuzzlePro onto a server?
| Yes. Click the "Save Puzzle" button
at the bottom of the application window after you have created
the puzzle, and save the file in the desired location. |
What kind of file (extension) is made
when I save a puzzle that I've created with Holt PuzzlePro?
| You will find the file has an extension
of ".puz". |
Can I edit or add terms and definitions
to Holt PuzzlePro?
| Yes. Click on the "Vocabulary
Bank" dropdown menu, then choose "Edit Term." Select
a Bank and then a List from the right side of the window, then
click the term on the left side of the window that you want to
edit. Also available are the Add Term and Delete Term buttons
just below the Term list. |
Where can I find help and more information
about how to use Holt PuzzlePro?
| You can access Holt PuzzlePro's Help
directly from the Holt PuzzlePro application. After launching
Holt PuzzlePro, click the "Help" button at the lower-left
corner of the application window. |
