What is the One-Stop Planner?
Use the One-Stop
Planner to customize lesson plans, manage class schedules, and
access teacher resources. The One-Stop Planner gives you easy
access to resources on CD-ROM and the Internet. The
One-Stop Planner provides a variety of teaching resources through
easy-to-follow, point-and-click menus. Teaching resources include:
Printable program resources
Editable/printable lesson plans and chapter resource files
Interactive Teacher's Edition, with links to program resources
ExamView® 5 Assessment Suite, which allows you to create
and manage your own tests.
Holt Calendar Planner, which allows you to schedule lesson plans
and classroom activities for the year
Holt PuzzlePro, which allows you to create interactive puzzles
Lab Materials Quick List, which allows you to plan all materials
required for the lab activities associated with the text |
What are the system requirements/supported
system configurations for One-Stop Planner?
For Windows Systems:
• Operating system: Windows 98, 2000, NT, or XP with latest
updates
• CPU: 133 MHz or faster
• RAM: 128 MB, minimum
• Available hard-drive space: 100 MB, minimum
• 8x CD-ROM drive / or 4x DVD-ROM drive (as applicable)
• 800 x 600 display
For Macintosh Systems:
• Operating system: 10.2, 10.3 or 10.4
• CPU: G3, G4 or G5
• RAM: 128 MB, minimum
• Available hard-drive space: 100 MB, minimum
• 8x CD-ROM drive / or 4x DVD-ROM drive (as applicable)
• 800 x 600 display |
Getting Started With One-Stop Planner
Use the One-Stop
Planner to customize lesson plans, manage class schedules, and
access teacher resources. The One-Stop Planner gives you easy
access to resources on CD-ROM and the Internet.
To use the One-Stop Planner, insert a One-Stop Planner CD-ROM
into the CD-ROM drive of your computer. The One-Stop Planner
Home Page appears.
Note: If the One-Stop Planner does not launch automatically,
double-click the icon for the CD-ROM drive on your computer.
Then, double-click the icon, One_Stop_Planner.exe (One Stop Planner,
on the Macintosh)
The One-Stop Planner contains resources that can be viewed, and
software tools and viewers that you install and use independently.
To view the following resources, click the resource name:

Resource Index
Internet Resources
State-Specific Resources
To install the following software tools, click the name of the
tool and follow the instructions that appear on the screen:

click the name of the viewer and follow the instructions that
appear on the screen:

Installing One-Stop Planner
No installation is
necessary to use Holt One-Stop Planner, but it allows you to
install these applications: Holt Calendar Planner, Holt PuzzlePro,
ExamView test generator, and MindPoint Quiz Show. To
use One-Stop Planner, insert a One-Stop Planner CD-ROM into the
CD-ROM drive of your computer. The One-Stop Planner Home Page
appears.
Note: If the One-Stop Planner does not launch automatically,
double-click the icon for the CD-ROM drive on your computer.
Then, double-click the icon, One_Stop_Planner.exe (One Stop Planner,
on the Macintosh).

What browsers are supported?
| Windows: IE 6.0 or
higher; Mac: Safari 2.0 or higher. Note: the latest
version of FireFox (Mac) will work as well, but requires a third-party
plugin, available at http://www.schubert-it.com/pluginpdf/ |
Do I need to modify the popup-blocker
settings on my browser?
In Windows IE 6 or
higher, the application will ask you if you want to block pop-up
content when you link to a PDF resource from an HTML menu. The
user can indicate "allow blocked content" from the
dialog box. To prevent the
message from constantly appearing, the user can simultaneously
select
"do not ask me again." |

Are administrative access/permissions
required for installing One-Stop Planner components?
| Usually, yes. If
you do not have the access or permissions needed to install components
from One-Stop Planner, contact your System Administrator. |
I don't have the system permissions needed
to install some of the One-Stop Planner components into the default
location. Can I install them in another location?
| Yes, you may be able
to install them in another location, however, the links to those
components on the One-Stop Planner's Home Screen may not launch
those items after installation, since it expects them to be installed
in the default location. Contact your system administrator
for assistance with installing into the default locations. |
I accidentally closed the
One-Stop Planner Home Screen window. How do I get it back?
| If you accidentally
close the One-Stop Planner Home Screen window, you can open it
again by re-inserting the disc into the CD-ROM drive, or by opening
the One-Stop Planner® disc in Windows Explorer and double-clicking
One-Stop Planner (Windows), double-clicking the One-Stop Planner
disc on the desktop or in a Finder window (Mac). |
When I close the One-Stop Planner home
screen, the application icon remains in the taskbar; how do I close
it?
| This is a a known
issue with some Windows sysems; try right-clicking the icon in
the taskbar and choosing "Close," or, using the Task
Manager, "End Task." |
One or more of my One-Stop Planner Tools
(ExamView, Holt Calendar Planner, etc) no longer launches when
I click its name in the Tools List on the One-Stop Planner Home
Screen. What happened?
| Make sure that you
have not moved the installed application files from their default
installation location. If they have been moved, the Home
Screen's link to that application will no longer be able to "find" the
application. |
How do I find and/or view a resource in
One-Stop Planner?
Resources are available
through the One-Stop Planner menu system. To select and view
a resource:
From the One-Stop Planner home screen, click any resource category
in the "Resources" menu.
The menu for the selected category displays, including links
to submenus or resources.
Continue to click links, moving through submenus, until the link
for the desired resource is found.
Click the link representing the desired resource.
The resource will open in a new window so you can view and/or
print it. |
How do I exit or close a resource in One-Stop
Planner?
Simply click the close
button of the window containing the resource.
The resource window will close, returning you to the One-Stop
Planner window. |

How do I return to the Resource Menu?
From any submenu under
the One-Stop Planner Resource Menu, click the Resource Menu link
on the right side of the screen.
The Resource Menu will replace the contents of the active window. |
How do install readers and/or plug-ins
that I may need to view included resources?
Your One-Stop Planner
includes all the readers and other plug-ins you need to view
the resources that are included. To install a reader or other
plug-in:
Access the One-Stop Planner home screen.
Click to open the "Viewers" menu in the upper right
corner of the window
Click to select the desired reader from the menu.
The installer for the desired reader will run. |
How do I exit the One-Stop Planner?
| You may exit the One-Stop
Planner at any time. To do this, click the "Quit" box
in the upper right corner of the Home Screen. |
I can't find a solution to my question.
