Important information about Microsoft PowerPoint for Macintosh version 11.2.4 (Updated 10/12/2006)
This information may apply to any of the following Holt products:
- PowerNotes
- Power Presentations
- PowerPoint Resources
A recent version of PowerPoint for Mac, 11.2.4, is sometimes unable to use presentation hyperlinks correctly (example: clicking a chapter title on a Table of Contents slide to jump to the first slide of the chapter desired). If your installation of PowerPoint is affected by this issue, you will find that when mousing over a hyperlink in a PowerPoint presentation, the pointer will change into the pointing hand cursor as if the text or object is a hyperlink, but clicking the item will have no effect.
Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac versions 11.2.4, 11.2.5, and 11.2.6 all contain PowerPoint version 11.2.4.
PowerPoint for Mac version 11.3, which is included in Office 2004 for Mac version 11.3.0, resolves this hyperlink issue. This is a free upgrade.
Many installations of Microsoft Office are preconfigured to update automatically; to verify what version of PowerPoint you currently have, do either of the following:
- Launch PowerPoint and click "About PowerPoint" from the PowerPoint menu.
- Navigate to the PowerPoint application on your hard drive (usually in Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/PowerPoint), click the application icon once, then click "Get Info" from the file menu.
To upgrade from any version of PowerPoint 11.2 to 11.3:
From any running Microsoft Office for Mac application, click "Check for Updates" in the Help menu.
- or -
Launch the Microsoft AutoUpdate application (in your Applications folder) and click the "Check for Updates" button.
- or -
Visit the Microsoft "mactopia" downloads page and download the updater.
