Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
About Ready for TAKS?
The Ready for TAKS? Benchmark Tests and Intervention CD-ROM onsists of two separate components: a Teacher Management System (TMS) and Intervention. Teachers use the TMS to set up teacher accounts, create classes, and set up student accounts. Once these accounts are created, teachers use the TMS to make class or individual student assignments, and to view student progress reports. Intervention contains all of the actual course content. Students use Intervention to complete assignments. The teacher account, class, and student accounts for that class must all exist on a single computer. Install Ready for TAKS? on a computer that all students can access to complete the assignments. The grades are stored in a database only on that computer, and must be accessed by the teacher on that computer. To make assignments and track student progress, first you must create classes and populate those classes with student accounts. The system generates reports only for users who log in using a student account that you create. Note: A separate "Guest" login is available for users to view and take all pre-tests and skills without a student login; however, these scores will be not reported back to the Teacher Management System.
